This is the place to discuss anything regarding the performance and specs of Maplestory 2.

    PC System Requirements

    Minimum:
    OS: Windows XP (64-bit)
    CPU: Intel Core i3
    RAM: 3 GB
    HDD: 8 GB
    GPU(AMD): Radeon 3870
    GPU(Nvidia): GeForce GTS 250 / GeForce 9800 GTX
    VRAM: N/A

    Recommended:
    OS: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
    CPU: Intel Core i5
    RAM: 4 GB
    HDD: 8 GB
    GPU(AMD): Radeon HD7870
    GPU(Nvidia): GeForce GT 660
    VRAM: N/A

    Notices:
    • Max FPS is equal to the refresh of your monitor (i.e 60Hz = 60FPS max in-game)
    • GPU usage is very low compared to the CPU usage. My GPU tends to max around the 50 to 55%, but most the time it's not even hitting the 30% mark.
    • Game engine uses HTT enabled processors quite well, usage is well around 20 % across all cores. Including the virtual cores on HTT enabled processors.
    • vSYNC is turned on default.
    • Game runs on DX9
In my general sense this game feels very badly optimized and leans a lot towards the CPU. My GPU usage tends to stay around 30%. I have issues with stuttering aswell sometimes. My GPU core clock tends to clock itself down when under a certain % GPU usage.

Im curious to see how other people's performance is while streaming, recording or just general playing. Please post your performance with added GPU + VRAM / CPU and RAM usage with it.

Game is still in beta so keep that in mind, all in all, the game is pretty decent but it will be very hard to enjoy the game for alot of users if there's alot of people in the same map.

    My performance:

    1920x1080 (MAX Settings) (vSYNC OFF) - i7 4790K (4C / 8T), GTX 780 + Recording / Streaming:

    GPU:
    20~45% Usage, VRAM Usage ~800MB.
    CPU: 20~35% All cores usage.
    RAM Usage: ~4GB

    FPS:
50~105FPS, not hitting my FPS limit at any time at all.

Special Notices: Very low FPS during Elites bosses, stuttering.

    My friend's performance:

    1920x1080 (MAX Settings) (vSYNC OFF) - i7 5820K (6C / 12T), GTX 980:

    GPU:
    20~30% Usage, VRAM Usage ~750MB.
    CPU: 20~35% All cores usage.
    RAM Usage: ~4GB

    FPS:
50~100FPS, not hitting his FPS limit at any time at all.

Special Notices: Very low FPS during Elites bosses, stuttering.

I like this thread. I think you're spot on about the optimization. I run pretty well up until I get into a zerg then I drop to a meager 5 fps... But my pc is about 5 years old so I'll wait until I upgrade before I get further into this discussion ^^

I have high FPS, except when I am around bosses it tends to decrease by a lot. It happens with everyone. Optimization isn't done yet.

After some optimization hopefully I could see full use out of my GTX970 + 144Hz monitor.

I love the fact that the game doesn't stuff up my second monitor like MS1 did ;3. It also doesn't minimize ^.^.

Nice Thread wanted to compare to a friends PC.

I'll get a high end Windows 10 device, before MS2 officially launches.

Edit: the laptop I've right now is 4years old so, I won't be talking about the specs.

Do you have any insight what kind of engine they are using? Is it in-house made by ProjectMS? or is it a 3rd Party? Going to see what the frame-times are later in the week, curious to see how much CPU overhead there is.

A few of my vids from yesterdays recordings are so laggy they're unusable. Not sure if server lag was high yesterday, but sheesh this is bad.

Any1 have any reccomendations for OBS local recording/streaming?

I'm not an OBS, streaming, video-making professional, but a lot of the time if you are having issues with latency when streaming (if it's not the game's servers) your bitrate is too high. Try lowering it. Note that lowering bitrate degrades quality.

Lowered bitrate to the minimum for 720p streaming.
